OUCH! That one hurt
(Written by kencraw)
I’m pretty ticked off about that one. That game REALLY stunk! Who took last year’s players and put them in this year’s uniforms?
I’ll rant all night if I let myself, but I’m not going to. Here’s to hoping a good night sleep gives some distance and perspective.

I hate to say coulda woulda shoulda…but it’s a completely different game if we score from the 2inch line-14 point swing and the whole tone of the game. I was actually looking for rubenzer in that situation. Anyway, bottom line, we let a very winnable game, even in retrospect, become a rout.

I guess there will be days like this when you’re in rebuilding mode. But man, they aren’t fun to watch.
Also, having a 100 yard fumble return by a guy who was once a verbal commit was the most cal play ever.

I wasn’t able to attend or watch on Saturday, though I caught much on the radio (I also DVR’d it, though I don’t know that I have the energy to watch it). I kind of guessed we were due for a bit of an offensive hiccup at some point soon, though not to the extent of what went on Saturday. We’ve been clicking so well, and it’s hard to execute to such a degree before you just have one of those games when things don’t go right for whatever reason. Good teams can push through in those moments with a combination of effort and talent, but we just don’t have enough of the talent part (except in certain areas on offense) yet to will wins when we’re not at our best (although I guessed enough offensive talent to score more than 7 pts. on anyone). We all perhaps got ahead of ourselves with this team, but I do still think we’ll be competitive in couple of ball games over this last half. Go Bears!

Three turnovers…that’s the story of this game. The good news is Cal is 4-2 and there are some winnable games left on the schedule. Four home games and two on the road. Only two more wins for a bowl.

You do know you jinxed us Rick with your comment on my preview: ” I think the Bears can score 52 on Washington if turnovers are not a factor.” Right? 🙂
