Now It Gets Tougher? (EMFMV 2010 #2)
(Written by jsnell)
Rehashing UC Davis and pre-hashing Colorado, it’s the latest EMFMV podcast with Jason and Ken! Thrill as we talk about the beatdown of the poor, overmatched Aggies. Get excited as we discuss other Pac-10 week one action. Become mildly bored as we discuss the stadium and public-transit issues. Wake up slightly when we preview what little we know about Colorado, this week’s opponent. But please listen, won’t you?

I completely sympathize with any frustrations over AC Transit. I had such a love-hate relationship with it during my time in Berkeley. You can’t help but rely on it to get around (including taking advantage of the transbay route to scuttle to SF), but you always have those rather untimely instances… One time I saw four #51 buses come down Shattuck quite literally back-to-back.
I was relegated to only being able to listen to the game on a KGO stream, but thanks to that I was at least able to learn the answer to one of your questions: Starkey did say that Quinn Tedford was playing near the end of the game (he’s a WR).
And an intruiging tidbit I just read today: Did you know that Darian Hagan’s birth father, Darian Hagan Sr., is the RB coach for Colorado? He apparently led those buff Buffs to a national championship as a 3-year starting QB.

For some reason, I never really noticed the Silverado or AC Transit Buses after the games, maybe because I sit on the West side and walk South after the games. Learn something new everyday I guess…
I think that you guys brought up a good point about the 3 OoC games that we play this year, starting off with Davis, CO, then UNR, will definitely be an increase in talent each week to prepare our bears for Conference Play.
One thing that I did want to bring up was the upgrades in the Food this year! I’m not sure if you guys actually buy food from the concessions, but from what I saw last week, I’m definitely going to try some tomorrow.

Calbearsfan: The food is much better. I had the pulled beef sandwich at the BBQ stand inside the stadium, and it was fantastic.

CBF, we bring in our own food, so I didn’t notice Haven’t you guys figured out by my ranting about $90 over the season that I’m cheap? There’s no way I’m paying the prices they charge inside the stadium. 🙂
