Judge to hippies: Come on Down!

(Written by jsnell)

Alameda County Superior Court judge Richard Keller has granted a preliminary injunction ordering the hippies to climb out of the trees or face jail time.

About 20 protesters attending the hearing and vowed afterward to continue the tree sit-in, despite the injunction.

“We’re committed to protecting our ground,” said a protester who goes by the name of Ayr. “Nothing changes for us. This ruling clarifies that the system is there to protect the powerful.”

This doesn’t mean anything for the other lawsuit, of course. But it does mean that the university can remove the hippies if they choose.

I think this is a bad idea. THE BEARS ARE WINNING. Don’t mess with the ju-ju. Removing the tree sitters could disrupt the precarious football-nature balance. THERE ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IMPLICATION AT STAKE!!!!! You heard it here first- don’t mess with it!

jw102475 just may have a point here… nah. Get those tree-sitters out of there!

When it rains it pours…What a GREAT week for Cal!! I realize it’s just part of the problem, but it’s a major issue that has had a lot of Cal fans incensed. Get ’em outta there!!

    On to victory…

Ken – Did you ever reveal what you wrote on your sign? That is if you made it out at

No, I didn’t make it out. I was pretty bummed about that but with how late we got in and all that I was going to have to do and needing to be at my best to report on the game, I just couldn’t justify getting up that early. Plus my traveling partners weren’t as keen on it as I was.

I’m sure I’ll have a sign for USC in Berkeley!
