Back in business
(Written by kencraw)
OK, it’s time to get this show back on the road. I wanted to start earlier in August, but it’s been a really busy month.
So what can you expect from me this year? In a lot of ways, more of the same. I’d be interested in feedback on whether the On The Road Home podcast continues to be appreciated. I’ll be going to 2 (UCLA, Stanford), possibly 3 (Colorado) of Cal’s 5 road games, if that helps bias people one way or another. I’ll of course be going to all the home games. But in addition to that, I plan the following, weekly:
-Pre-game prediction post
-Post game wrap-up
-2 to 5 commentary posts
-(Maybe) a video review of the game (mostly game footage, not my ugly face)
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to make it to practice this year and looking at the next two weeks, I don’t think I’ll be able to make it before the season starts. Nevertheless, this year there is more info out there on practice than there has been in forever, so there’s plenty out there for me to comment on.

Glad to have you back! The podcasts are always enjoyable.
Also, there’s some spammy-looking html code on this site.
If you view source on this post, it’s on line 154 in Firefox or Chrome, and it begins with the word ‘Obtaining.’ It seems like it’s been there for a while. Just wanted to alert you.

Thanks for the spam-code heads up. I found and eliminated it from the blog page templates. That’s a bit scary that it was there… not sure whether the template I based this on had it all along (that’s the good scenario) or if someone managed to hack into the site and add that to the templates (the scary scenario). Nice little trick they pulled to make it hidden so that the only one who sees it are the search-engine crawlers.
Out of curiosity, how did you come to see it?

It was basically an accident. I was viewing one of your posts that I had added to Instapaper on my iPhone (a read-it-later service that strips out everything but the content of an article), and it showed up there. I’m guessing that the code appeared because it was in the body portion of the page, so the service assumed it was part of the article.

Nice to see you back.
Good stuff you give us.
I enjoy the written versions of everything for two reasons,
1. I am hearing impaired and it is tough to get much of what comes through my computer speakers
2. I generally do my checking in small bursts, so extended listening is not as easy to pick up where I left off.

Thanks for the feedback Lee. I’ve heard from more than one person that they prefer the written content. It’s definitely not going away.

Glad you’re back. I enjoy both the written and podcast.
Thanks,

Welcome back, Ken.
For what it ‘s worth, I’m a fan of the podcasts. I enjoy the analysis and it’s nice to listen to while commuting or working around the house.
