Maryland, Season Preview (EMFMV 2009 Podcast #1)
(Written by jsnell)
We’re back with the first installment of this year’s Excuse Me For My Voice podcast, featuring Ken Crawford and Jason Snell.
This time we have a lot to talk about: The Maryland game, handicapping the entire upcoming season, talking about the Pac-10’s new bowl ties, and even offering some mildly informed opinions about the new gigantic hole to the west of Memorial Stadium.
You can also subscribe to this podcast on iTunes.

Good stuff, guys. I don’t always get a chance to listen to these because it’s hard to listen to audio at work, but I do enjoy these, and always find them informative.
And for the record, Twist, Yellow Fever and myself are all survivors of the Holmoecaust. I myself personally attended 10 of the 11 games in 2001 (missed only Oregon State).

Okay, I’ll give you props then – anyone who lived through Holmoe has loved and lost like Frank has.

Ah come on Rags, one year… one lousy year! You don’t know nothin! 🙂
Yeah it was a rough one year, but Jason and I know decades of angst and horror.
Kids these days… I had to walk to school through to snow and fog, in the blazing sun over hot coals, up hill, BOTH WAYS!

Hehehehe, well, it’s true, I haven’t watched nearly as many hopeless Bear teams as you have. Congratulations?

about Alamo Bowl vs. Holiday Bowl…
This is a huge mistake and the Pac 10 will be sorry and I will tell you all “I told you so.” January 2nd is not better than December 30.
Here’s why:
It will be the same game — Pac 10 #2 vs. Big 12 #3.
TV viewership will be lower.
Attendance will be lower — and the Big 12 will have twice as many fans as the PAC 10.
The PAC 10 will yield home field advantage to the Big 12.
San Antonio is no San Diego.
The PAC 10 will not realize how good the Holiday Bowl is until they leave it.
