I enjoy Tedford almost as much as he enjoyed running Forsett up the middle on first, second and third & goal.

Ken:

Nicely written article for bearterritoty.net.

A long, long time ago (80's), when I lived in Oakland, a columist for the Cron (Glen Dickey?) wrote that someday Cal would have a great football program. He highlighted that Cal had great potential. It's location, weather and stadium made for an ideal situtation to recruit from. All that was needed was a good coach...

I've been to Lincoln, NE, Austin, TX, Gainesville, FL, Knoxville, TN, Madison, WI and Auburn, AL. Berkeley far surpasses these places as a place to place football. Cal can be a long term, top level college football program.

And it will be said that it turned around with Jeff Tedford.

Amen. Tedford has at least a full decade at Cal before I'll even look at the possibility of grumbling. And even then, it's not just his winning record that should be taken into account, but his overall class, and his commitment to the Bears program. Even though I'm not an Old Blue and I basically started paying attention to Cal football during the Tedford era, you only have to look at the previous decades of heartache to know that we should all be happy to have him.

Here's to a hundred more, and a Rose Bowl as the cherry on top.

Nice article, Ken. It kinda rings similar with some things I wrote, which I think I wrote based on one of your counterpart's articles, over in my own blog.

Your article is obviously more polished, and I love the extra facts you've included here.

I'm also glad you and Jason put this blog together -- it's been a great place ran by two very dedicated Cal fans, and I've learned neat things from you two.

Here's to many more games coached by Tedford, and many more years of good things.
